What are some differences in temperament of a Schutzhund trained dog vs. a police dog?

I read a lot articles on the prey drive, defense drive and fight drive. I am under the impression that a Schutzhund trained dog, from lines imported, not the American show lines, has the genetic complement required to take the fight to the man, if trained. However, looking at some dogs, I noticed that they target the bite sleeve and equipment, as the position of "capture", and they are more focused on obtaining of prey "object" that "bad guy". What gives?

For the uninitiated, a field of 100 dogs doing the same routine in May resemble all. All May Score 100 in the same phase of protection. The problem is when something like Schutzhund becomes popular in the United States, it begins to descend. American mentality is "POINTS POINTS POINTS" … period. The other problem is that only 1 in a thousand trainers can handle a dog that is "serious". If it was strictly the "real deal" in competition, the Nationals would about 3 entries. Fortunately, there are still people in Germany and more in the Czech Republic, which recur again for the complete package … the real deal .. a "Serious" guard dog. They are not only Way too expensive for a police … but they are also too much for them to manage. They wanted not recognize the talent they still … they had simply determined that the dog was too "hard" for them to train.
