I dogs train service and use one myself. My dog is trained to help with brain injury. We've been together for eight years and is nearing retirement. It is difficult to imagine that not be there. The few times we had to be separated (due to illness or injury), he felt very badly and I continue to look around him until I remember that there is not. Even athletics and joy in life. She tries a little harder to please, but it lacks some of his common sense. It's just very sad to see the body of his age and knowing the end is near.
